Here's my official announcement of what to do with greifers/trolls/harassment/on going harassment. This is based on Blizzard's FAQ as well as information I have gathered from the Customer Service Forum.
Firstly: Crogrog/Grimshawl and guild members of <The Relentless Warhost> are to be put on ignore. Immediantly. Period. This applies to EVERYONE in the guild, including myself, Dregg, the officers, and the rest of the guild.
1) Griefers/Trolls/Harassers are to be put on your ignore list.
Why put them on ignore?
This is a simple answer: Because they then have to get on an alt to talk to you. Doing that is against the ToS and is reportable. Blizz cracks down hard on this, as well. Not putting them on ignore makes Blizz ask you, "Well why didn't you just put them on ignore?" which actually hurts your harassment ticket/report. (( You should also do it because then you don't have to get further stressed out from the stupid whispers. ))
So if they get on an alt what should my in-game ticket/report look like?
Use these words: (Harasser/Griefer/Troll's name goes here) has circumvented the ignore function at (Give a relative time and day of the report).
2) There's no need for sceenshots.
Why?
Because Blizz keeps logs for up to 2 months of player interactions. What you should do in your ticket/harassment report is tell Blizz about what time the harassment occurred and what day.
Should I take screenshots anyway?
If you want. If the harassment or problem is from a fellow guild member then you should definitely take screenshots and show them Ruvok, Dregg, or an officer right away.
3) If the harassment is a more than a one time thing, tell Blizz this!
Why?
If you simply report someone for harassment without mentioning this has happened several times then Blizz won't know it and the troll/griefer won't be punished as badly.
So if they have been bothering me a lot what should my in-game ticket/report look like?
Mention these magic words in your ticket: "ongoing harassment". Those are the code words Blizz looks for the ticket to make sure it isn't just a one time thing.
Every report and ticket matters. If you give Blizz the right words and phrases, if you give them the time and day it happens, if you give them just the facts - then something is being done. It is being looked into. You won't see it right away most likely because their policy isn't to tell you the results of their investigations usually. More than likely you'll receive an in-game mail or email to your Battle.net email about them working on the matter. Even though results might not look like much right away, you're doing something and contributing to that griefer/troll getting in trouble with Blizzard for what they did. Every report builds up the Penalty Volcano (check for a link to this below).
Don't give in to the griefers and trolls and jerks. They will get what's coming to them. Put them on ignore and report them for harassment. Report them for going around the ignore function if they get on alts to harass you. And if it's done more than once then mention that this is on-going harassment. Our guild will play by Blizz's rules to handle these problems.
We will not sink to their level. And we won't give up. We're Kor'kron!
